Pensacola Interstate Fair, Inc. is a Life Member of the American Poultry Association and will hold its show under APA rules in accordance with the latest edition of the Standard of Perfection.


Deadline for receiving entries will be October. 10, 2011

RECEPTION OF ENTRIES

Entries will be received for testing at Poultry Barn
Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, 12 noon - 6 p.m., and
Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, 8 a.m. - 12 noon.


All entries must be on the grounds and in their coops no later than 12 noon, Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011,
or birds will not be judged.
Birds must remain in their coops until Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at 10 p.m.

Admission of Animals for Exhibition
7C4.04-Poultry

All chickens and turkeys going to public exhibition shall originate from pullorium-thyroid clean flocks or have negative pullorium test within ninety (90) days prior to exhibition.

Chickens or turkeys entered for exhibition purposes which are from pullorium-thyroid clean sources must be accompanied by a certificate of purpose from the hatchery.

All chickens or turkeys entered for exhibition purposes must be free of, and must not have been exposed to, infection or contagious diseases of poultry.



RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. 1. No entry fee will be charged.
  2. 2. Competition opened to all. No one exhibitor may exhibit more than a total of 25 birds (poultry, bantams, waterfowl or turkeys). Exhibitors desiring to enter more birds may do so with special permission of the Show Superintendent. The management has the right to refuse any or all entries.
  3. 3. Any stock showing signs of disease will not be accepted. Sick birds will be removed from showroom.
  4. 4. Express entries on all entries shipped to the show must be prepaid. At close of show, all such entries will be returned to the exhibitor via the same line, express collect, unless the exhibitor expresses that he wishes otherwise.
  5. 5. Pensacola Interstate Fair, Inc. will use every precaution in the management of the show, but will not be responsible for any loss that might occur. Competent officials will handle cooping, feeding, watering, and caring for the birds during the show and will see that each bird is returned to its proper owner at the close of the show.
  6. 6. All entries must belong to the exhibitor, who must show his own stock. If found to be otherwise, the exhibitor will be disqualified and not eligible for premium awards.
  7. 7. No birds can be removed until Saturday, Oct. 29, at 10 p.m.
  8. 8. The fair will provide feed and expert daily attention without cost to the exhibitor.
  9. 9. Judging by a qualified judge will begin Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at 12 noon. Cash prizes will be distributed at the close of the fair if possible. Ribbons will be distributed immediately upon award by the judge. Judging will be made under provision of the latest Standards of Perfection of the American Poultry Association.
  10. 10. All complaints made to the superintendent of the Poultry Department or secretary-manager of the fair must be made in writing.
  11. 11. Sales will be permitted, but birds cannot be removed until close of the fair.
  12. 12. All exhibitors desiring to dispose of their specimens but unable to attend the show, may convey their price by letter or entry blank to be sold by Show Superintendent and full price received will be remitted to the exhibitor.
  13. 13. All entries consist of single specimens only (poultry, bantams, turkeys and waterfowl). When entering bantams, clearly indicated.
  14. 14. The following cash awards will be paid to all varieties of single specimens (both young and old). Cock and hen birds over one (1) year of age. Cockerel and Pullet birds under one (1) year of age. Three of More in Class: 1st Prize, $5; 2nd Prize, $3; 3rd Prize, $1.50
  15. 15. All entries must be picked up by 11:00 a.m., Sunday, October 30, 2011.

this means the best ten birds of the show, not cock, hen, cockerel and pullet.
