DESCRIPTION OF JUDGING SCALE


QUALITY

Products which clearly show outstanding characteristics and excellence.

VARIETY

The assortment of ideas and articles used in the exhibit. The exhibit, to be classified as COLLECTIVE, may consist of the following: Principally agricultural products (vegetables; canned products; hay, grain and forage; corn; sugarcane and syrup sugarcane in short stalks ONLY) sufficient to show grade and type; cured meats and dairy products; nuts and fruits; soybean; cotton; and apiary products (NO live bees). These are suggestions only. Many other items may be displayed at the discretion of your club.

APPEARANCE/ARRANGEMENT OF DISPLAY

The general appearance of the exhibit, which must be changed each year, should be clean, neat and uncluttered, EYE-CATCHING, and have balance and harmony. The combination of formand color shouldmake for a GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION.Original, individual and creative ideas and concepts should be carried throughout the exhibit. Horticultural plants and designs may be used to make the exhibit as decorative as possible.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE

The exhibit should contain facts and information that will quickly and clearly present an educational picture.

EXHIBIT AND SIZE

FRONTAGE: 15 feet; DEPTH: 8 feet;
BACK HEIGHT: 8 feet; SIDE HEIGHT: 4 feet

NOTE: No item on display shall extend over the 4’ side height

EXHIBIT CONSTRUCTION

Exhibitor is required to erect the supports within the exhibit enclosure for the display of items or articles to be used in the exhibit. The erection should be made flexible to permit a rearrangement from year to year. The exhibitor is to prepare, arrange and otherwise complete the exhibit in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the exhibit.

- IMPORTANT -
All exhibits must be completed, area cleaned and ready for judging to begin no later than 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, and remain in place until Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011. Tear Down is Oct. 30, from 10am - 5pm.


RULES

  1. 1. Each exhibit must be credible, must utilize the space provided, and must be found worthy of the premium offered.
  2. 2. Exhibitors must provide their own front barrier to the exhibit. (SUGGESTION: Planter boxes with flowers will make an attractive appearance.)
  3. 3. In the interest of better exhibitions, it is required that each exhibit show definite changes from year to year. Picture of exhibit will be made and will be available for judges to compare in determining amount of changes made.
  4. 4. Exhibitors in this class must present a “complete exhibit” to qualify for premium awards. In the event the exhibit is not classed as complete by the judges but is 75% complete, only a guarantee of $125 will be paid.
  5. 5. Each exhibitor will be held responsible for the cleanliness of the exhibit, which must present a clean and neat appearance at all times to be eligible for premium awards.
  6. 6. Do not put anything in your booth that is of substantial value to you or that you not replace. The Fair is not responsible.

- IMPORTANT -
Remove all items, products or articles used in the exhibit at close of fair so as to leave the exhibit area occupied by them in a CLEAN condition. THIS IS A MUST. Failure to comply will cause the exhibit to be disqualified for competition for premium awards-in which event, only a guarantee of $125 will be paid.

LACK OF COMPETITION IN CLASS

In any division where there is no competition in a class, SECOND PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED. (Exhibitors should thoroughly understand this provision when entering their exhibit.)

- IMPORTANT -
EXHIBITS SHOULD HAVE A FRESH APPEARANCE!

Exhibitors must arrange to keep their exhibits supplied with “fresh” produce, etc. during the fair wherever necessary. A fresh appearance at all times is desired of all products shown in the exhibit.

SIGNS

Each exhibitor must place a sign identifying the exhibit and the sponsor thereof. The sign shall be of the exhibitor’s own creation, of attractive appearance, and be as decorative as possible. There is no limit on size.

COMPLAINTS

All complaints should be made (if any are to be made) in writing to the general manager of the fair before the opening of the fair and no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2011.

- IMPORTANT -
All exhibitors are extended the appreciation of the members of Pensacola Interstate Fair, Inc. for their interest and participation, which ensure the success of the fair and will enable the event to be looked forward to each year. The management also wishes to extend appreciation for the cooperation given by all concerned.

Products exhibited in the Community Class should be raised within what is commonly known as the community-except where such a community exhibit is handled by a community organization. In such case, any member of said organization can furnish products for such exhibit regardless or where he/ she lives.
