The Pensacola Interstate Fair is not operated for profit, It serves the useful purpose of developing the agricultural, educational, cultural, livestock, scientific, commercial and industrial resources and surrounding counties and states.

All of the expenses of the Pensacola Interstate Fair are met through the support and patronage of the public and NOT from any contribution of tax monies from the city; county; state or federal governments or from any other source.

Rules & Regulations

    ELIGIBILITY

  1. 1. Exhibitors will be limited to members of Youth and FFA members from the following counties: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton in Florida; and Escambia and Baldwin counties in Alabama.
  2. 2. Exhibitors must be 8 years old or older by Sept. 1.
  3. 3. All recognized beef and commercial heifer breeds will be eligible to compete.
  4. 4. It is recommended that all exhibitors wear appropriate Youth or FFA attire for the show.
  5. 5. Exhibitors must have owned or leased their animals at least 60 days before the show. Commercial heifers must be tattooed.


  6. ENTRIES

  7. 1. All entries must be postmarked on or before Aug. 1, 2011, in order to be excepted. Entries postmarked after Sept. 1 will be subject to management approval and availability of stall space. Absolutely no entry will be accepted after Sept. 7.
  8. 2. First place, Blue ribbon animals may compete in the adult individual classes for ribbons only.
  9. 3. Mail all entries to Andy Peterson 9630 Wawbeek Rd. Century, FL 32535.
  10. 4. Use separate entry blanks for each exhibitor.
  11. 5. All information and signatures must be completed or entry will not be accepted.


  12. HEALTH REGULATIONS

  13. 1. All animals in Youth Beef Breeding Show must comply with Health Rules as outlined in Adult Rules & Regulations.


  14. GENERAL

  15. 1. The fair provides bedding in the barn. No other bedding will be allowed.
  16. 2. The exhibitor is responsible for the care of his own animal.
  17. 3. Animals shall be assigned stalls and may not leave the fairgrounds during the show, unless special permission is given by the superintendent.
  18. 4. Exhibitors must turn in their record books upon arrival.
  19. 5. Animals must be secured by a rope halter and tie rope. No chain halters or leads except on Brahman and Santa Gertudies breeds.
  20. 6. Bulls must be handled with nose leads.
  21. 7. All animals shall be in the barn between 6:00 - 9:00 nightly and shall be tied out after 9:00 p.m. During inclement weather the decision to tie out shall be made by the Superintendent.
  22. 8. Tie-outs will be individual assigned.
  23. 9. Exhibitors must provide their own straw for bedding in tie-outs. Manure must be removed daily and dumped in roll-off container.
  24. 10. Feed and water pails must be furnished by the exhibitor and not left in front of animal for any extended period of time.
  25. 11. Grooming chutes are not allowed in barn.
  26. 12. Exhibitor must show their own animal in all classes unless assistance is approved by the superintendent.
  27. 13. Animals must be shown with a show halter.
  28. 14. No person other than the teacher, agent, leader, family or other member of the club or chapter will be allowed to groom or assist the exhibitor in grooming.
  29. 15. Animal will be placed according to the Modified Danish System (Ribbons Based on Animal Quality) according to their relative merits, after placing, the class will be divided at the discretion of the judge with Blue, Red, and White groups as set forth in the Danish System.
  30. 16. All cattle must be halter broken, trained, and show evidence of bring well groomed.
  31. 17. All animals will be subject to disqualification by the Livestock Committee and the findings of the Livestock Committee are final.
  32. 18. An exhibitor may not receive awards on more than two (2) entries in a class.
  33. 19. A wash rack is provided for washing only -- No feed or hay permitted.


  34. ARRIVAL

    (Time will be provided by Superintendent)

  35. 1. Cattle may arrive Wednesday, October 19, 2011, by 7 p.m.
  36. 2. In case of emergency call the Fair office at (850) 944-4500.
  37. 3. Registration papers must be available for the Superintendent.
  38. 4. Substitutions must be made by September 1, 2011. They can be made by phone to the Superintendent. No substitutions will be allowed upon arrival.

    RELEASE:

  1. 1. Sunday night Oct. 30, 2011, 8 p.m.
  2. 2. Any exhibitor removing animal prior to release forfeits rights to premium monies won.


SUPERINTENDENT MAY AMEND THE RULES BUT, IN ALL CASES,THE LIVESTOCK ADVISORY
COMMITTEE DECISION WILL BE FINAL.
